Busting the Net Price Quandary: Part Three of the tED Mag Exclusive

Robert Noe, Former 1SYNC CEO, to Speak at the IDEA E-Biz Forum 2010

IDEA is proud to announce Robert Noe, former 1SYNC CEO, as the opening keynote speaker on day two of the IDEA E-Biz Forum 2010. Noe is a talented and accomplished senior executive with an extensive background including 35 years of directing corporate operations and technology groups. Noe has deep experience in strategic planning, public company management, change management, supply chain management, and mergers and acquisitions. He is currently a Managing Director of Alix Partners.

More About Noe
Before joining Alix Partners, Noe was the Chief Customer Officer with GS1 US, a not-for-profit organization that brings industry communities together to solve supply chain problems through the adoption and implementation of GS1 standards, where he led the transformation from a product-oriented culture to a market-oriented culture. Noe also led the merger of Transora and UCCnet to form 1SYNC, a subsidiary of GS1 US, which he was the CEO.

Before that, Noe was the Chairman and CEO of The ViaLink Company, a subscription-based, business-to-business electronic commerce services that enables food industry participants to manage their complex supply chain efficiently. There, he created a world-class solution partner program to accelerate customer value and grew the customer base from 50 to more than 1,100 customers.

He also was involved in the initial launch of the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). GDSN is an internet-based, interconnected network of data pools and a global registry that enables companies around the globe to exchange standardized supply chain data with their trading partners.

Noe holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business management from Central Michigan University. He has also attended various professional programs at University of Chicago, and University of Maryland.

Noe was Chairman of the Board of The viaLink Company – a publicly traded company. He was also a director on the GDSN Board.

IDEA, a 1SYNC Data Pool On-Board Solution (OBS) partner, implements suppliers that subscribe to the 1SYNC data pool using IDEA's IRD CERICOMX® application. IDEA was recently assigned 11 suppliers:

These companies will be trained to use IRD CERICOMX®, an online catalog that suppliers use to register product data with the GS1 Registry® and GDSN via the 1SYNC Data Pool. Suppliers also use this solution to publish product data to demand partners including retailers like Lowe’s and Walmart.

September Training Opportunities

IDEA is leading three product user groups and seven training sessions at the IDEA E-Biz Forum on September 20-22 in Dallas, TX. Make plans to attend and help create the agenda by taking our short survey.

The population of United Nations Standard Products and Services Codes (UNSPSC) is essential for the industry to begin utilizing and benefiting from the first Electrical Attribute Schema. Training will continually be offered to IDEA customers so that these codes can be appropriately maintained and utilized in the future. UNSPSC codes are now required at the commodity level in the IDW Data Synchronization Platform.
